I am making progress with the little caps. I am actually running out of yarn. I realized that I don't have any blue yarn for baby boys. If you have some extra yarn laying around or you can stop by an art store maybe you will pick up a skein and donate it. Let me know if you are willing to contribute and I can tell you where to drop it off. I wish I could take a stroll to the art store! I am like a child in the toy store staring at the long isles of materials. I can spend days in there marveling at the diversity of yarn, colors and materials I couldn't even fathom.

A Colorful Baby Set
I finished my second project, a crochet baby hat and a pair of booties. I found this easy patters on www.lionbrand.com. I already started a new cap. And I know where to take my first batch of warm hats. There is a place in midtown where pregnant women are getting sheltered from some good-hearted, generous nuns. I think it could be a nice present for Christmas for the babies to come and their mothers.

How The Idea Was Born
Each of us can do very little to make a difference. It doesn't take a lot of money and it doesn't take a lot of time. I had a busy schedule, always running around. A couple of weeks ago I got injured and suddenly my world changed. I had the choice to feel sorry for myself or to make the best of my time. I wasn't going to let one injury control my life. The idea came to me Saturday morning. I needed a project. I had learned to knit and crochet when I was little but I can only do simple projects. Why not putting that skill (however limited) and time to good use? So I decided to knit all sorts of hats and scarves and take them to orphanages or hospitals and give them to women who need to keep their babies warm. So, if you can make something and have some spare yarn let's make a collection and keep some babies warm this winter.
